@period123 I like 'em. They really stay put which IMO is the most important feature of an overnight pad. Hope this helps! - Lora, Real Answers Panelist

Awkward, You might be able to cut off the "wing" portion, but be careful that you don't cut into the part of the pad that does the absorbing--you could have a leak if this happens! U by K Health Expert -- good Luck!

Awkward, Try to not worry too much about tomorrow. Since it might be too late to buy different pads, let's think about what you can do. 1) change in the bathroom 2) wear a pair of underwear over the one's with the pad on them, 3) tell a close friend in your class.

I'm 13 and I just had my first period yesterday, and all I have are pads with wings so I'm kind of scared for gym class because people are going to see that I'm wearing a pad... I just won't be up for the teasing.

also @ GreenTea, the correct pads just depend. Try buying different absorbencies and pack mostly heavy duty and a couple light just in case.

... (in the bathroom that is) and I'm embarrassed that they will hear me change my pad which is a weird situation to be in. What should I do about not having the correct pads and changing them? Try to answer sooner than later please, and I'm in 6th grade by the way.+Period today

My period is usually pretty heavy and I prefer to use the heavier absorbency pads. I recently ran out of them and got my dad to buy me some more but he got the regular absorbency(darn). I plan to change my pad during lunch but there are students that hang out in there...

@Answers: Different girls need different numbers of pads for one period. As long as you're changing your pad every 4-8 hours, you should be good. Change them as often as you need to for your flow! Check this out too: http://www.ubykotex.com/real_answers/qa/answers?id=50302

@Amy: I have two suggestions for you- one, tell your mom about your heavy flow and need for a different absorbency. Two, you should check in with your healthcare provider about your cramps and heavy flow. This may be normal, but it is best to get these concerns checked out!

I get the worse cramps ever! I can never do anything! Is there anything I can do? Also, my mom buys me light or slim regular tampons. My flow is heavy, and I tend to bleed through the tampons easily and quickly. How do I tell her to get be a better absorbency.

@emmyjj With a heavy flow, I recommend you check your pad every 2 hrs. If needed, set the timer on your phone for a helpful reminder. And using our most absorbent pad is a great way to prevent leaks while you figure out a schedule that works for you. – Real Answers Panelist, Lora

@Ladybug_pillowpet cont.- Perhaps she doesn’t experience the amount of regular discharge that you do and will be more understanding once she knows what you are going through. Every woman is different.

@Ladybug_pillowpet- In my experience I have found if I approach my mom in a grown-up type way she will respect what I say more. So when you talk with her explain clearly the reason why you think pantyliners would be good for you.

so i just started my 4th period. I love the way the heavy flow pads are made though because since they are so long it can hold more. The thing that I can't get about girls and their periods is why we are so embarresed? I mean we will all have are periods so just embrace it:)

@sassy- Discharge is normally kind of sticky. Depending on what week it is your cycle your discharge might even vary a little. But too much change can mean there is a possible issue. Check out this article for more info on when to be concerned.

I'm writing on behalf of my 14-year old daughter, who is disabled. I've finally found a heavy and overnight pad capable of doing all it says. On her heavy days, these pads are a lifesaver because they cover so much area and hold so much flow. Congrats on a truely unique product!

@sadie1lady bcuz i read that u tend to have more heavier flow over night than during because u r just letting the fluids flow out of your self instead of doing activity. so , they make it maximum to hold heavy flow.

@Winx Club I find a panty liner is best used a few days after your period to collect residual discharge. You can also use them prior to your period to stop an early period from staining your panties. Hope this helps!! – Real Answers Panelist, Lora
