A.I remember the first time I used a tampon and it went in easily, but it really hurt on the way out. I have found that unless I am really flowing, taking the tampon out can rub a little funny and feel like the skin is pulling. Tampons don't hurt going in and this is especially true if you are choosing a tampon that is the right size for you and I have always found that the plastic applicators make the process of putting it in smooth and easy. Once the tampon is in you shouldn't feel it at all. If it feels funny or like it is falling out once you have put it in, you should pull it out and get a new one and start over. The whole process of putting a tampon in and out is made sooooo much easier if you can relax the muscles of your vagina. Here's how: squeeze your butt like you are trying to hold your poop in and you can feel the muscles of your vagina tighten and raise up too. Now relax them and try to keep them relaxed like that when you are putting in or taking out your tampon.

A.A tampon may hurt the first time you try to insert it, but it shouldn't be bad. You shouldn't feel it once it's in, so if there still is pain or discomfort, you may not have inserted it correctly. That's okay, like any new skill it may take practice to get it right. The key to pain-free tampon application is to relax, which - if it's your first time - is probably the hardest thing to do. Just keep practicing, you'll get it right! And there's no law that says you have to use a tampon. It took my daughter months of trying and she tried lots of different kinds before she finally got comfortable enough to use them every month.

    A.

If your tampon is inserted correctly, it shouldn't hurt at all. The only times my tampon feels uncomfortable is if it's not quite positioned correctly. Sometimes, I just have to take the tampon out and insert a new one. A good rule of thumb: If your tampon feels at all uncomfortable, take it out! Don't force it. It took me a few years until I was comfortable wearing tampons, and even then, I would still wear pads occasionally. If your tampon always hurts, don't hesitate to contact your healthcare professional. If you're having trouble inserting tampons correctly, check out our First Timers page for more info.

Yep! The 1st Time Does Hurt. && You Have To Let The Tampon Get Full Before Even Trying To Take It Out. If You Try To Take It Out Before It's Full, It Will Hurt A LOT! If You Get It 1/2 Way Out And It Hurts Too Much To Pull The Rest Out, Sit In The Tub For A While && Then Try! (:

Tampons arent really that hard to put in, every box comes with a paper than shows you easy ways to put it in, just look at the instructions and there should be no problems, plastic applicators work great for me. Very simple to use. (:

Using tampons gave me a self-esteem boost for sure. I don't have to worry about if you can see the outline of my pad, or if it's gonna leak threw! I'm very happy about them. Especially the U by Kotex brand :P Thanks for the video! Helped a lot!

If it hurts a lot and seems like it is impossible to get it in you should see a doctor. My mom and sister and friends couldn't understand why I couldn't use tampons no matter what I did. Finally went to a dr. and found out it was a mis-formed hymen and i needed minor surgery.

Yeah I totally get the whole 'practice make perfect' thing but I'm the kind of person who (sometimes), likes to get things right the first time so I probably be so frikin' frustrated that I can't do it right that I'll probably give up, lol. I'm REALLY impatient sometimes... :\

I really want to try to use a tampon (next year), but why doesn't it have to take a really long time to get the hang of putting in a stinkin' tube of cotton? Not to sound like a bratty little 5 year old complaining but its just 'cuz I'm not very patient. Continued...

With the plastic applicator, inserting a tampon is a breeze. However when it comes to taking it out, it is a little stressful, sometimes I feel like it is stuck! But I have to relax and be patient as I gently pull it out.

many people say it hurst to talke a tampon out but if you relax and take it slow its not so bad. It is easy if you try spredding your legs as far out as possible. If you are still having trouble just ask an adult for help.

I used to hate putting tampons in and taking them out, but I usually have pretty heaavy flows except for on my last couple days or so, and pads just weren't working for me. I use the slim kind, and always plastic, not cardboard.

It shouldn't hurt when you pull a tampon out. Make sure to wear the right absorbency, and give it enough time to absorb (4-8 hours is recommended) so it won't be so dry.

If you pull on the string and it doesnt slide out easily then you don't need to change it! It will feel a bit uncomfortable if you pull it out because it's dry... but I wouldnt say it hurts... Tampons are AWESOME!!! I hate wearing a pad. It makes me feel like I'm wearing a diaper
