Every Girl is Unique

Row of girls legs

But when it comes to vaginal folds, that’s a whole other story, and many of us get anxious just thinking about whether or not we’re normal! The recent trend of removing all pubic hair has put a bold emphasis on this part of our bodies, making us wonder what is and isn’t natural down there, and even causes anxiety about feeling ugly and weird. When it’s a jungle down there, it’s hard to tell the difference between most of us. But if we take a closer look, or when the lawn gets mowed, it’s easier to see just how unique each of our bodies is.

Just like our other body parts, we have no control over how our vulva (the external part of the vaginal area) is going to look, and boy can it look different! Normal, healthy vaginas come in a staggering array of shapes, sizes, colors, and even textures. So you’re normal, no matter what you look like! But don’t just take my word for it – it’s a good idea to get started going to the gynecologist for general health purposes, so that they can check you out and reassure you that you aren’t the one in a million girl with a true abnormality. Best of all, if there is something wrong, the doctor can help you determine the best options for you to get well!
